Technologies

At FourCo we believe in open source. Open source means for us that a bigger community is further developing the different technologies and that there is not a single company controlling the roadmap (lock-in). Open Source doesn’t mean necessarily “free”, as commercial parties sometime offer specific add-on features and special support. Whether this is needed or not, will primarily depend on the usecases and the customer’s policies.

The technology stack is evolving rapidly, often too fast for our customers. Yesterdays’ state of the art technology can be overtaken by new generations of even better technologies in a question of months. This is the beauty and the challenge of the current developments. But here also: use-cases will determine what components are needed.

FourCo is technology independent, but of course we have our preferences based on our year-long experiences.
